Saving Empty Containers

Saving and reusing containers from Subway(salad)
and other containers food comes in.  I have never
purchased plastic containers. They come in handy
for storing and transporting food to church suppers
and club refreshments. I have saved some money
and the containers can be used  to hold craft items
and others areas of the house to keep small items
 organized.

Making Changes to an old Highboy and Dresser.

My parents first dresser and highboy from the 60's I wanted to keep, but needed to make some changes.. I removed the large polished brass knobs and replace with wooden knobs that I varnished
and stenciled roses to appear like furniture of  20's or 30's. The mirror had some small damage that I stenciled again with roses to camouflage the chip. I love it for it brings back memories of how hard my parents worked to own this set.

Save Plastic Grocery Bags - BEWARE

Save plastic grocery bags, tie in loose knots to use as packing material.

BEWARE when bringing in outside plants as the temperature drops (cold) of spiders and small tree frogs hiding beneath leaves and hidden in the soil. If possible take cuttings for next year's plantings, throw away  plants if need be, then place soil in a bag and scrub out the container to store. (c) Mary Nida Smith
