An empty shampoo and syrup contain.Place a few small rocks in the bottom to keep them from falling over.

All my life I have loved creating something from discarded items, it produced the same feeling I had when the pantry was full after canning.

REINVENTING:
I purchased two lamp shade for five dollars each. I like the unusual shape and the good buy.

But my husband said they block the flow of light - so I traced a maple leave pattern on two corners of the shade, then cut it out allowing more light to flow. I love nature and the shape of

the maple leaf.

I have created several items using clay pots for my deck and added different statues to my Woodland Garden using items that were castaways. Have you used broken and odd pieces to create?

Recycle containers;this one is great for transporting devil eggs to a picnic. A breakfast roll was in this container when I purchased it.

Bedroom dresser and highboy belonged to my mother

that she purchased in the 60's.It was her first brand-new set.

It had large brushed brass knobs/handles that I removed

and added wood knobs. I clear varnished them and stenciled

on the design.I wanted it to look like the blond stenciled

furniture of the 20/30s.I also used the same stencil on the

corners of the large dresser mirror to cover a chip.

Easter Egg dying: as a kid I saved the different colors to dye my doll clothes.
Let your daughters have fun. Tear some thin strips of white cloth, new
or pieces of old sheets to be used as scarves and ties for the hair. Boys
can dye thin strips to tie on their bike handles as streamers. (C) by Mary Nida Smith
